Wellness Exams & Vaccines
Prevention
One visit a year, two for seniors
First visit $72, 40 minutes
A wellness exam is the cheapest medicine there is. Your vet checks eyes, ears, teeth, heart, lungs, skin, joints and weight, asks about food, energy and habits, and catches problems while they are small. Vaccines are chosen for your pet’s life, not from a fixed list.
What you might notice
Nothing, usually, and that is the point. Owners book because a reminder came, a puppy needs shots, boarding needs a vaccine record or a dog just seems a little slower than last year.
How we treat it
Every visit starts with weight and vitals, then a hands-on exam on the floor, the table or your lap, whichever keeps your pet calmest.
Core vaccines for every dog (rabies, DHPP) and cat (rabies, FVRCP), plus Bordetella, leptospirosis, Lyme or FeLV only when your pet’s life calls for them.
You leave with a written plan for the year: what is due, what is optional and what each item costs.
Common questions
How often does my pet need an exam?
Once a year for healthy adults, twice a year for dogs over 8 and cats over 10. Puppies and kittens come every three to four weeks until the vaccine series is done.
Does my indoor cat need vaccines?
Yes, rabies and FVRCP, because bats get inside, cats slip out and boarding requires them. FeLV is only needed if your cat goes outside or lives with cats that do.
Can you vaccinate without an exam?
No. We examine your pet at least once a year before vaccinating, so we know the vaccine is safe for them that day.
What does it cost?
$64 for a wellness exam, $72 for a new patient, and $34 per core vaccine. Wellness plans spread it out from $34 a month.
This page is general information, not a diagnosis. Every pet is different. Trouble breathing, a seizure, a hard swollen belly or heavy bleeding needs an emergency hospital now.
